Cavities

We all know what cavities are

They arise when bacteria from bits of food on the teeth transform sugar into acid. If they are not removed with a toothbrush, the enamel starts to corrode, and gradually a cavity will form. As long as the cavity is small, you normally won’t feel anything. If the cavity is discovered in time, a cheap repair is normally sufficient. This is why a regular dental check-up is so important to keep down expenses for dental treatment. The sooner a cavity is treated, the easier it is to do. All the affected tissue has to be removed and replaced.

Painless laser technology replaces the drill to a very large extent

At PSH TandlægeCenter, instead of the traditional dental drill, to a very large extent we use laser technology when a cavity needs to be mended. It is fast and painless. A small red beam of light illuminates where the laser is targeted, and the laser is adjusted in such a way that it only removes the affected tissue in the tooth.
