Crowns are not just crowns
With a crown, the whole tooth’s chewing surface is replaced by porcelain around a core which is normally made of gold. Crowns can also be made of two different types of porcelain, creating a core and an outer layer respectively. Both solutions are very durable.
To make the procedure cheaper, crowns can also be made abroad, but unfortunately, we see many examples of the gold content being faked, and quality varies a lot.
A quality crown done professionally normally lasts 20-25 years. So even though they may cost a bit more, financially it is a good choice.
