More about laser treatments at PSH TandlægeCenter
Laser treatment has meant a revolution within modern dental treatment and treatment of the gums.
For a number of years, laser technology has been used at hospitals (among others), and subsequently at a number of dental clinics in Denmark. In the USA, they have used laser dental treatment for many years – with great success.
Laser technology is rather expensive, so not all dental clinics have been able to invest in this new equipment, because of their size.
Laser surgery’s big advantages
Lasers have many advantages for patients. Very often, there’s no need for anaesthetics and yet the treatment is still totally painless. Additionally, your gums heal much faster and with less risk of subsequent infections.
Comprehensive documentation
The advantages of modern lasers are clinically documented in more than a hundred articles from leading universities around the world. These articles substantiate the value of these new lasers in practice, i.e. through improved root fillings and fewer problems with fillings. When operating on soft tissue, bleeding can be prevented, there is less swelling and pain, and the healing process is faster with less risk of subsequent infections.
Laser treatment is especially appropriate for children and for adults who are a little nervous about visiting the dentist.
Lasers may be the preferred procedure for many treatments
Modern lasers can be used effectively for many dental treatments, which are also more comfortable for patients.
For example:
Root canal treatments, drilling work, surgery, infections of the gum and over-sized gum pockets, paradentosis, blisters, cold sores, whitening, sensitive tooth necks, pressure sores e.g. from dentures, etc.
